This encourages me, but perhaps many others only wait patiently hoping for
better times.

I do as you say.

Find attached the following:
- usblspci - the lspci -v output
- usbboot - the kernel.log output for this boot
- usbdev-1 and usbdev-2 content of /proc/bus/usb/devices

The test scenario was as follows:

I unplugged everything from the root hub as it would otherwise produce a hang
in the boot process, for which i cannot provide logs, but it ends precisely
where indicated in the quote above. I attached a ps2 keyboard to control
test.

Now usbdev-1 shows the situation right after booting. As you might see from
the kernel log, i then may have plugged/unpluged a hub more then once.

As another abnormality to mention, i had to mount the usbdevfs manually, but
that might be another issue.

Now comes the interesting stuff - usbdev-2 with i cite here, additionally:

E: Ad=81(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 1 Ivl=255ms

This is the content of /proc/bus/usb/devices after plugging in one of the
hubs. Isn't it strange - Cls=hub, Driver=none.

I didn't try to attach any other device directly to the root hub, but i can,
if want you me to.

As for peculiarities in my hardware, it is absolutely normal. ;-)
I guess the boot log and the lspci should provide enough information.

Oh yes, and tons of -ac kernels, too, they all have had their own issues
preventing me to run them. E.g. since about 30: reiserfs problems (which
appears to be fine, now), then earliest kernel oops, then (37-39?), usb-kbd
not working, but everything else fine, now since 2 or three versions this
problem. [many more long paragraphs of whining deleted]

Please let me know if i can be of any further help to track down the issue.
