Hi Lars,

The problem appears durings boot time and causes a complete lock-up of the system.

FamousLastWords += "usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1"

I can complete the boot process if i plug out anything from the host, and plugging in the first hub with out any devices attached does not cause a lock-up then anymore. It does not make anything available either, though
The good news is that nobody else has reported such lock-ups, so it's likely
something specific to your setup is triggering this. The relevant OHCI code
hasn't changed in quite a long time.

Send along some more information: output of 'lspci -v', and dmesg output
of successful and unsuccessful scenarios (with verbose USB messages enabled).
What kind of system? (Fast CPU or slow, x86 or other, is memory tight, etc.)

I recently noticed some new (to me) problems with 2.5.41 when devices were
plugged in as HCDs are initializing, but I've been thinking that was tied
to the general USB instability I've seen since about 2.5.39 ... did you try
a 2.5.38 kernel? (Or maybe one or two releases earlier.)

- Dave
