Hello,

[I tried linux-usb-users to no avail, so I thought I would try here.]

I have a Belkin UPS F6C800-UNV with a USB port, USB id 050d:0980, and I'm
running Linux 2.5.46. I'm having some trouble getting this to work with
hiddev.c. Initially I would get these messages during bootup:

drivers/usb/core/hub.c: new USB device 00:11.2-1, assigned address 2
input: USB HID v1.00 Mouse [Logitech USB-PS/2 Trackball] on usb-00:11.2-1
drivers/usb/core/hub.c: new USB device 00:11.2-2, assigned address 3
drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: control queue full
drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: control queue full
drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: control queue full
drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: control queue full
drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: control queue full
drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: ctrl urb status -32 received
drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: usb_submit_urb(ctrl) failed

I noticed that 2.5.47-bk5 had some changes for another USB UPS, so I
replaced drivers/usb/input and include/linux/hiddev.h in my 2.5.46 tree
with those from 2.5.47-bk5. That got rid of the "control queue full"
messages, but it still doesn't work. That is, I still get the last two
error messages, opening /dev/usb/hiddev0 fails with -ENODEV, and
/sys/bus/usb/drivers/hiddev is empty.

Below are excerpts from my .config and boot messages. For the boot
messages, I enabled DEBUG in drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c, and I trimmed
"drivers/usb/" from each line. Any help would be appreciated.

Best wishes,
Wayne
