Good lord, no! The 2.4 version of the UHCI driver is vastly different from the 2.6 version. I wouldn't touch it without spending a few weeks studying it first. Also, you're underestimating the amount of time and work required to make the changes discussed in this thread. Some of them imply reorganizing large sections of the driver. I wouldn't be surprised if 2.4.24 is out before everything is done.
