something additional to my last posting: > i can't write to DVD-RAM
> Mounting allways gives "read-only block device" or "block device is write- > protected, mounting read-only". Also remount with -o rw doesnt work. But a > df -H gives: i can run windows-xp in vmware on my linux-pc. So i give it the try and let the virtual-xp have an usb-interface. I had to rmmod usb-storage for this, and then the xp gets my external usb2.0 drive as an usb 1.0 drive, thats because vmware only emulates usb 1. My syslog said at this point: usbdevfs claiming device. And i could write to the dvd-ram in the drive! It was a real write, because i could read the data later over usb-storage in linux. So i think, the problem is grounded in usb-storage, which is not realizing my dvd-ram as a "disc-media", but only as DVD/CD. I think it's no ehci or uhci problem, because i get the dvd-ram readonly also when using my onboard usb 1.0 slots.
