Checked my kernel config and i have included EHCI and UHCI support but not OHCI. Thanks, Paul. Hi i have seen your recent posting. the 865pe needs the ehci driver for usb2.0 only. but usb is up- and downwards compatible and so not need ehci. it would be good to describe your problems more precisely to the list: what exactly is the name of the cable modem does it occur when hotplugging, when coldplugging, or both what are the outputs of: -lsusb -dmesg (the relevant lines) -the contents of /proc/driver/?hci/* have you tried uhci? who told you to go with ohci? afaik, the 865pe has ohci+ehci, no uhci. "lspci -v" could make this clear. rgds Kevin ____________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Messenger - Communicate instantly..."Ping" your friends today!
