Greetings, Based on some recent information from the 'Linux-usb-users' mailing list, I want to provide a minor patch to the kernel 'Configure.help' file for the 'CONFIG_USB_SERIAL_MCT_U232' section (to reflect the fact that 2 of Belkin's USB/RS-232 adapters work with the 'mct_u232' driver).
A couple of questions: (1) The header of this file (as of "Version 3.01: current with 2.4.19+") says that ESR is the maintainer, but I cannot find a recent version of this file anywhere on his site and the file doesn't seem to be distributed with the kernel source code (at least for 2.6.1, which is the last _full_ [non-patch] kernel source tarball I've got) and cannot be located anywhere at www.kernel.org as far as I could tell. Where is(are) the latest 'Configure.help' file(s) kept??? (2) Where should a patch to that file be sent -- directly to ESR, to LKML, or to Linux-USB-Devel (because it's USB-related)? Apologies if this issue is out-of-scope for this list -- I've never submitted a pure kernel documentation patch and I don't follow LKML (and the LKML FAQ didn't help). TIA....
