OK -- I've built a test setup with 2.4.27-rc1 and everything seems to be working as well as usual with my Belkin F5U109 USB/RS-232 adapter. The changelog entry for 2.4.27-rc1 is rather terse: USB: Update mct_u232 Is there anything in particular I might have tested besides what I describe below? I connected two devices to the Belkin F5U109: an ordinary external RS-232 modem and a Garmin 'GPS35 TracPak' GPS receiver. Both devices were able to receive and send data just fine. Your patch seemed to be (at least somewhat) related to the baud setting code, so I successfully exercised both devices at several baud rates (GPS: 1200, 2400, 4800, and 9600 bps; Modem: all those plus 300, 19200, 38400 bps). I tried several hot-unplug/re-plugs with the F5U109 and didn't see any anomalies there either. Bottom Line: 2.4.27-rc1 looks good from my viewpoint. Aside: Just for fun (?), since I noticed some changes to the 'pl2303' module, I also ran some (similar but less extensive) tests with my IOGear GUC232A USB/RS-232 adapter. Everything appears to be working with that adapter as well. Bill Marr ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by Black Hat Briefings & Training.
