Yes, I just took a look at the thread.

Yes, he's just a so helpful person :-)

I may test those patches, but it wouldn't make much sense for me. Still if
a developer want me to try, I can do it.

I remember I had read some messages when it was advised to test with an
additional hub. I guess I was lucky to remember it.
It might be that the hub helps in some way the synchronisation somewhere in
the transfers...

The usb drive is a :
http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=10396
I now that the inner disk is a samsung :
Vendor: SAMSUNG Model: MP0402H Rev: UC10
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
But I don't know much about the usb-to-ide converter.
Btw, I had reported the problems to LaCie (the scsi revision 4 problem,
and a possible problem for this disk), still no answer.

Here is a cat /proc/bus/usb/devices :
T: Bus=01 Lev=02 Prnt=02 Port=03 Cnt=01 Dev#= 9 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 2.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1

E: Ad=81(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
E: Ad=02(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms

The usb chipset of the machine is a VIA USB2.0.
The thing (as I tell in my message) is that the hard disk works well with
another usb2 machine. For me the problem is located somewhere in the USB2
chipset of the machine, which would not come as a surprise, as it was
reported that via usb2 chipset were sometimes problematic...

The usb hub I used is :

Hmmm, if it can help you with your problem, I will do some tests tomorrow
and put more verbose logs.
Now it's rather time to go to sleep :-P.

Regards,
Samuel.
