Hello,

I've try to use the module usbserial for using a POS-Lineprinter from
EPSON.
After I load the driver with
modprobe usbserial vendor=0x4f8 product=0x0202

=> the driver for usb-printer should be "printer" or usblp for more recent kernel.

I can send characters to the printer.
But I can't configure the printer by ESC sequences, because if i send the
ASCII-Value 0x0A (LF), the printer get the ASCII-Value 0x0D (CR). I've test
it in the hex dump mode of the printer.
What can I do, to send data in raw mode to this printer?

For information:
My linux system doesn't recognize the EPSON POS-Linprinter with USB
interface as printer. I think it is because this printer has a wrong
ClassID; the ClassID I can see on my system is 00.

=> For the ClassID, in some printers, the ID is specify at the endpoint level of the device
( "bInterfaceClass" file with the "sysfs" filesystem ). Normaly, it should be 7...

Losts of printers from Epson are recognized, list is disponible here : => http://www.linuxprinting.org/printer_list.cgi?make=Epson

Best regards
Olaf Wegner
