On a PXA-26x based platform running Olav's isp116x-hcd driver and 
making use of the software reset, the same problem occurred. The 
driver worked fine with the CLKRDY bit test removed though. In my 
case, the CLKRDY bit was not set during the whole hdc 
initialization process. So I guess Lothar's interpretation of the 
documentation is accurate.
