Hi all. I've googled around and didn't find any mention, just found another victim with exactly the same problem (same printer, same results).
I installed an HP LJ1022 printer, and found that printing is extremely slow (10 - 30 minutes for a page!) using the machine's normal USB 1.1 port. All the while, the printer's LED is blinking indicating (probably) data transfer. I thought maybe the 1.1 port was too slow, so I acquired a 2.0USB adapter today, installed ehci. WOW... this was incredible - no delay at all! printing was immediate. No way the difference is explained only by the step from 1.1 to 2.0. There seems to be something strange with the uhci-hcd module which slows everything to a crawl. Pse notify if I can be of help.
