Hello, I am new to this evolving linux USB list. Hence please excuse my lack of understanding of the current state of design.
What I want to achieve is to have the ability to enable/disable a USB device based upon the device descriptor information. Write a kernel module to sit onto top of the USB controller driver. I noticed recently that greg KH submitted a change to allow notification to be received when a device is connected/disconnected. When reading Pete Zaitecs response he made derogatory remark made about the change. I dont care about the remark I care about the validity of the change and its worth. Is Pete the reviewer and if so I can simply discount the change? If the change is valid I could adopt the patch in my design otherwise its a Red Herring. Much appreciated, Garyc Message: 3 Date: Tue, 18 Oct 2005 21:11:45 -0700 From: Greg KH <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Pete Zaitcev <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: linux-usb-devel@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: [linux-usb-devel] Re: [PATCH 01/04] USB: add notifier functions to the USB core for devices and busses ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Power Architecture Resource Center: Free content, downloads, discussions, and more. http://solutions.newsforge.com/ibmarch.tmpl _______________________________________________ linux-usb-devel@lists.sourceforge.net To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-devel
