On a notebook?? I did try an add-on on the desktop I had it plugged into before, and that didn't help much. I think there is something really weird about this printer (Google helped me find other people who had trouble with in on Linux - but only after I bought it of course:-). However the fact that it works better on 2.4 than on 2.6 should be a useful clue. My rather uninformed guess is that the two kernels must be configuring the chipset slightly differently. It is a 0000:00:07.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 USB (rev 01) Is there public available specs for such a controller that I could use to help me understand the code, compare it with 2.4 to see what differences there are and maybe start twiddling bits until something happens? I'm keen to experiment, but I'm a complete neophyte when it comes to usb hardware and I'd value a few pointers.
