I am wondering if the KPC650 card is prone to go into a dormant mode.
My cardbus is the ENE-CB1410, and I am seeing similar problems with high speed
data.

But, when I am sending/receiving data or not the card frequently goes dormant
for 5-10 seconds then comes back. It appears that the actual ppp session is
dropped and has to cycle for a new connection.
I am sitting at my desk with an indoor repeater just 10 feet away, so the
signal is excellent at all times. High speed data over Windows works just fine
of course.

I am sniffing the Windows watcher exchanges to see if I can determine if there
is a keep-awake handshake going on that is missing in Linux.
I have two Laptops with two KPC650s side by side, one with Windows and one with
Linux. So, I hope to be able to nail this down.

Has anyone managed to pull signal strength from the Kyocera card while
sending/receiving data.

I am able to query with AT commands, but once ppp is up, this is no longer
possible.

Cheers,
- Nathan.
