I hate replying to my own email, but hopefully this will save you guys wasting any
more time on this (apparent) problem.
I plugged my second camera into a different quadrabus port and voila everything is
working fine, with no picture corruption.
It looks like it is a hardware problem -- now to find out which combinations of ports
work and which don't, and then a little chat with Belkin.
