I just purchased an Iomega external USB 2.0 CDRW drive which is supposed to be able to write/rewrite/read/RIP(dae) at 16x/10x/40x/32x with a USB 2.0 connection. But even with my handy-dandy new IOGEAR 5 port USB 2.0 PCI card, I am only seeing 4x (USB 1.1) speeds.
I purchased both the IOGEAR PCI card (model GIC250U), and the Iomega USB CDRW (model CDRW6402EXT) because I have been reading that both Iomega and IOGEAR were supporting the Linux-USB projects. I have not been able to find much info regarding Linux and USB 2.0 support. Can anyone point me in the direction I need to go to determine if there is support for this particular setup, or (more generically) a URL that describes the current status of USB 2.0 support for Linux? Thank you. ------------- Bill Arlofski Unix/Novell Systems Administrator The Hotchkiss School http://www.revpol.com/img/billjump.jpg The point of the journey is not to arrive.
