Hi,
I'm having a serious issue with booting a RedHat 7.0 kernel 2.4.18-pre9 SMP
on an i686 as soon as my printer (HP-OfficeJet K60) is powered on.
I get the following boot messages:
...
kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/2/4, assigned device number 4
kernel: usb.c: ignoring set_interface for dev 4, iface 0, alt 0
kernel: printer.c: usblp0: USB Bidirectional printer dev 4 if 0 alt 0
.... (other boot messages) ...
Starting cupsd [OK]
Running Linuxconf hooks:
ip_conntrack (4096 buckets, 32768 max)
ip_tables: (C) 2000-2002 Netfilter core team
printer.c: usblp0

And the the system freezes.
I don't find other related messages in my syslog or in the boot.log.
It looks like the system crashes somewhere in my rc.local but I don't do
anything
with usb devices there. So I don't even know if the rc.local is related to
this.
When the printer is offline everything works fine. I can switch on the
printer later,
hotplugs detect it and everything works fine. I just can't boot with the
printer on.

Is that a known issue?

Thanks,
-- Bernd
