Hi, I got no response to my previous message. So I guess the problem is not that common.. I'm running RedHat 7.0, kernel 2.4.18-rc1 (allthough the issue appeared in previous kernel versions as well SMP and no-SMP) and hotplug version 2002_01_14. When I boot the system with a powered-on printer, most of the time the system freezes. It happened with a HP-DeskJet and it is happening with an HP-OfficeJet.
Sometimes I get just nothing on the screen. This time I was lucky and got some more information I want to share with you. This is the relevant output: --------- snip ------------ ... Starting cupsd: [OK] Runnung Linuxconf hooks: uhci.c: uhci_destroy_urb_priv: urb c1950a7c still on uhci->urb_list or uhci->remove_list Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000014 printing eip: e104417c *pde = 00000000 Oops: 0000 CPU: 0 EIP: 0010: [<e104417c>] Not tainted EFLAGS: 00010082 eax: 00000014 ebx: c1950a7c ecx: c1919ca0 edx: ffffffea esi: c1950a7c edi: 00000000 ebp: 00000000 esp: dd2abdc8 ds: 0018 es: 0018 ss: 0018 Process usb (pid: 1453, stackpage=dd2ab000) Stack: ... Was that more helpful? Any ideas? Thanks for any help!
