I'd strongly recommend getting a USB flash card reader, as serial comms can be very slow to transfer image files. I haven't looked back since I got a cheap 6-in-1 card reader. Also, you can take the card reader with you and use it on another PC or storage device - so it's more useful than just a cable.Which solution would make more sense ?My gut feel tells me to buy the cables.
You will still need a serial cable for the cellphone - I don't know if there is anything special about cables that are available for a particular device, or if you can use a generic USB->serial convertor.
