Is it darker at night? Or do you switch on a strong lamp?

2. Maybe things need time to finish initializing.
Have you tried leaving the computers switched on all the time?
Might be thermal problems (semiconductors can be very heat sensitive,
power supplies and current drain etc. can be particularly sensitive).
Maybe they need to get a little cooler.
Or warmer, I dunno.
Is it cooler at night? Or do you turn on the heater?

3. I don't think that's a very good idea, especially with Linux, and even
more especially with Linux on a network...
And of course
3. You might be right - it might be the time. But I can't believe it.
4. There might be another explanation. That's the most likely I think.
