hi chaps, i have got myself a usb camera (aiptek dv 3100). Some other
aiptek cameras seem to be supported but this one isnt in the list (i
thought usb was proper plug-n-play ?)

This is what i get from /proc/bus/usb/devices

C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=40 MxPwr= 0mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=09(hub ) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=hub
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 8 Ivl=255ms
T: Bus=02 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 13 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=08ca ProdID=0107 Rev= 1.00
S: Manufacturer=Aiptek Co Ltd
S: Product=DV 3100
S: SerialNumber=01.00.00

Can someone tell a little about what the above means - and if it
suggests that it wont work as i get:

May 29 18:47:46 scratchy kernel: usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 3, frame#
983
May 29 18:47:46 scratchy kernel: SCSI device (ioctl) reports ILLEGAL
REQUEST.
May 29 18:47:46 scratchy kernel: SCSI device sda: 507904 512-byte hdwr
sectors (260 MB)
May 29 18:47:46 scratchy kernel: sda: test WP failed, assume Write
Enabled
May 29 18:47:46 scratchy kernel: sda: I/O error: dev 08:00, sector 0
May 29 18:47:46 scratchy kernel: I/O error: dev 08:00, sector 0
May 29 18:47:46 scratchy kernel: unable to read partition table
May 29 18:47:47 scratchy devlabel: devlabel service started/restarted

from /var/log/messages.

This is a little worrying !

and mount reports

usbdevfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbdevfs (rw)

any help with gwetting my camera working would be great - does it seem
possible ?

(ps this is my first 'usb' gadget thats why i may seem a llittle dim :-)

cheers

dave
