Hi, Hi I have a Motorola Surfboard 4220 Cable Modem. I'm trying to connect it to my Redhat machine, since its Ethernet interface is plugged into my university LAN.
The modem has an Ethernet as well as USB port, the Ethernet port is currently being used by another computer, and the USB port to which I would like to connect to my Redhat machine. I looked at TLDP, and found documentation, and followed it uptil, loading CDCEther and dmesg showed that it registered the device. I was however unable to find the configuration file, and when I did an "ifconfig", my Ethernet device was not detected (well the main Ethernet card was but it was inactive, because no cable was plugged in), but I tried configuring a new USB CDC device from Redhat's Network Configurator, but it failed to detect the USB modem. So I'm in a fix, any ideas ? ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: Parasoft Error proof Web apps, automate testing & more.
