You haven't told us what version of the kernel you're using, so guesswork follows in order of my preference: If you can run 'lsscsi' that will tell you but you need a recent kernel. Later kernels are more helpful. I'd recommend at least 2.6.0-test5 but that's just because that's what I'm using, it's the firs 2.6.0 kernel I've built and it's way better than 2.5.x for USB. If you run 'dmesg' you might see something about the drive. If you look at /var/log/messages there might be a hint. If you can run 'cdrecord -scanbus' that might say something about your scsi device ids but it won't tell you if it's for example /dev/sdb. You might need sr_mod and sg loaded. 73, Ged. ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-users
