I've had mixed success with the BUSlink external 60Gb USB disks. I'm using the Debian 2.4.18bf kernel and the hotplug utility. The disks do not get detected on a cold start when plugged in: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/2, assigned device number 2 usb.c: USB device not accepting new address=2 (error=-110) hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/2, assigned device number 3 usb.c: USB device not accepting new address=3 (error=-110) [ This BTW is a _common_ problem with USB devices running under Linux. Do the google search for yourself. I don't believe that USB device support is generally ready as far as Linux is concerned. I've had several messages to this list and I've read the linux.usb FAQ and not really found a satisfactory answer to my difficulties. ] I can get the disks to be detected if I plug them in _after_ the machine is up and running. -- Quist Consulting Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 219 Donlea Drive Voice: +1.416.696.7600 Toronto ON M4G 2N1 Cell: +1.416.803.0080 CANADA WWW: http://www.quist.ca ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: The SF.net Donation Program.
