Hi,
I have a bit of a problem. I have HP ScanJet 3400c which doesen't work and
now I will explane my problem:
- I am using Suse 8.2 with kernel 2.4.20
- I have installed Sane-backend 1.0.12
- libusb version 0.16a-45
- ieee1284 version is 0.2.8
Here is a part of /var/log/messages and the actions I did:
-------------this is entry when I unpluged the scanner----------------
Nov 15 21:45:46 brain kernel: usb.c: USB disconnect on device 00:07.2-1
address 2
------------now I pluged it back again--------------------------------
Nov 15 21:46:11 brain kernel: usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod 0x3f0/0x405) is
not claimed by any active driver.

------------ now I entered `modprobe scanner'------------------------

Nov 15 21:47:32 brain kernel: scanner.c: 0.4.10:USB Scanner Driver
------------ starting xscanimage-------------------------------------------

Nov 15 21:48:23 brain xscanimage: resmgr: server response code 200
Nov 15 21:48:23 brain resmgr[1188]: disconnect from root
Nov 15 21:48:23 brain resmgr[1188]: accepted connection from user root
Nov 15 21:48:23 brain xscanimage: resmgr: server response code 200
Nov 15 21:48:23 brain resmgr[1188]: disconnect from root
Nov 15 21:48:23 brain kernel: usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 1721
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everything I did (modprobe & xscanimage) I did as root.
I contacted Sane developers but they refered me to this mailling list because
they think that problem is with Linux USB core or the UHCI host controller
driver.
What do you think? Is there a solution for my problem.
Hoping for the best, regards
Predrag
