I purchased a USB switching LAN hub in order to share my internet connection with my second computer. The manufacturer of the hub is a company from Korea called "cosy". I didn't think it would be a big issue because I bought a USB keypad from them (cosy) and it works fine. The hub says that it is compatible with Win 98/SE/ME and Win 2000/XP so I figured that it must be using some fairly standard components if it is usable all the way back to Win 98.
The problem I am having with the hub is that my system does not even recognize that it is plugged into the port. The hub has an power led which does light up when it is plugged in but /proc/bus/usb/devices only shows the USB host controller (UHCI). I am running a 2.6.0 kernel with the USB system compiled as modules on an IBM ThinkPad 770. Any help on what direction to take (or if my situation is hopeless) would be appreciated -- "if i were two-faced, would i be wearing this one?" abraham lincoln brent langille lci kids club masan, sk phone (055)243.8350 icq # 25137557 msn [EMAIL PROTECTED] email [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------- The SF.Net email is sponsored by EclipseCon 2004 Premiere Conference on Open Tools Development and Integration See the breadth of Eclipse activity.
