Mounting /dev/sda directly and copying data to it will immediately nuke the
stick's file system. Even if it still seems to work after that at first the
FS is corrupted and odd problems may appear. Don't do that! Be sure to
immediately create a new FS everytime after you mount/umount /dev/sda.
