But, as I guessed earlier, your stick probably has the same interior as mine, 
which is from SigmaTel. Those guys create the firmware (I think) and don't 
seem to talk to customers, but only to contractors. I've talked to the 
support guys at Medion (manufacturer of my stick) and they confirmed that. 
Well, I asked them to pass on the information to SigmaTel, they said they 
would, but I don't really believe that.

So, I think, the only thing we can do is decide if we wanna keep that thing 
anyway (well, it works great as an mp3player, just need to put all files on 
at once and can't change the contents) or exchange it.

Could anybody here make any recommendations about working 256MB 
usb-stick/mp3-player's?
