So what is that message telling us?

Have you tried enabling USB debugging?  I don't know what else to suggest.

Because I'm paranoid.  Isn't everybody?  But ext3 is good, I feel better.

No.  Maybe it could be an effect.  I haven't trashed a SCSI filesystem
with USB yet but I've sure trashed a few IDE ones.  I'd want to know. :)
