Did I? I don't think so, but still... I sent this message like three months ago, and AFAIR I only sent it to lklm and only CCed usb-storage's list.
Second, it looks like your device is choking on the prevent/allow medium removal command, even though it's apparently reporting RMB.
That was it.
You can probably work around this device bug by editing linux/drivers/scsi/sd.c to remove all attempt to send prevent/allow commands -- IIRC, that's only two places in the file, tho I don't recall exactly where they are at the moment.
To avoid modifying code affecting other drivers, since I didn't take the time to read & understand all the usb-storage, I added my device to drivers/scsi/scsi_devinfo.c's list of bad behaved devices. I had sent the patch a couple days later than the message you're replying to.
I attach it again, any comment about wheter it is worth this or it indeed usb-storage which is faulty would be nice :)
