Yeah, I've tried that one. Sadly it did not help. Is it this specific enclosure that people are having problems with, or is it usb enclosures in general? I certainly wouldn't mind exchanging my enclosure for one that's known to play nicely with linux.

I don't know, a number of people seem to be having trouble with these Prolific interfaces. You could try reducing the max_sectors value, that might help.
