There are two patches that I think will address your problem. The first one is in http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-kernel&m=109647165425442&w=2 The second one is in http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-usb-devel&m=109744234829347&w=2 The first patch is probably already in one of the -mm releases, the second one may or may not be.
