The driver returned, but without the proprietary stuff:

There has been talk of reverse-engineering the pwcx code.  There's
also been some disagreement over whether the sensor in the camera
actually has 640x480 pixels, or if the proprietary driver was
just scaling/interpolating them from a smaller grid.  I have no
idea what the current status is.
