I do appreciate your info on where to look. I did several plug/unplug with a usb-ide dongle I have and with swapping disks. Seems to work ok. I noticed that 2.4.26 has the same annoying problem with scsi bus numbers as 2.6 has (IE: it never reuses the same bus number) > I doubt that it will get accepted into the official 2.4 kernel, because > development on the 2.4 series is pretty much into "bug-fix and nothing > else" mode. But if you want to try, you can submit the patch to Pete > Zaitcev. Ok. I haven't followed 2.4 much. Most of my machines now that still run 2.4 run it because I either don't want to reboot it (or take the time to compile it =) or they can't run 2.6 properly -- Lab tests show that use of micro$oft causes cancer in lab animals ------------------------------------------------------- The SF.Net email is sponsored by: Beat the post-holiday blues Get a FREE limited edition SourceForge.net t-shirt from ThinkGeek.
