against 2.6.12.rc5 kernel.

Pulled the hub, so, left with
motherboard nnvidia nforce2 usb host controller talking to
silverriver genisyslogic ide bridge chipset in USB2 enclosure
300gb western digital caviar drive.

With this arrangement we managed to copy approximately 45G in
some 5 DV files to the USB2 hard drive before an error set in.

/var/log/messages reports

PLEASE --- if anyone can give me the name of a good, high quality,
USB2 enclosure that can reliably copy hundreds of Gs worth of files
without blinking, while staying up for weeks without being turned off
and keeping a large 300G hard drive cool -- let me know!

PLEASE --- if anyone can give me the brand/model name of a PCI
USB2 card that works well with Linux patched or unpatched kernel!

Thanks you!
