I've got to either get recommendations for known-to-work
PCI usb2 host controller card and usb2 ide enclosure
(not just known-to-work chipsets, I cannot go into a
large computer store and ask for the chipsets -- they'll
only know about brands/models)
-- OR --
buy a better power supply and/or a new box with good
ventilation for 4 hard drives (current box already has
3 hard drives in it) and throw away the whole idea of
working with linux and usb.
I've lost days getting beaten to a pulp by this. I've
got 3 new 300G external hard drives to back up
70 some odd DV tapes and their edited DV files, and
2 300G drives inside the box (along with a 50G base
hard drive). Videos are of victim's rights activists
discussing the history of victim's rights in the U.S..
Project has to be completed in about a week. Right
now trying to back up 9 files (100G!) and then having
to fsck to verify the copy, and/or having to fsck because
a copy fails and having to start completely over
is breaking me.
Help!
THANKS
Heitzso
