You didn't set usbfs_snoop to 1 first? > That added the following lines to the dmesg output: > > "usb 3-2: usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd lsusb rqt 128 rq 6 len 4 > ret -71 > usb 3-2: usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd lsusb rqt 128 rq 6 len 256 > ret -71 > usb 3-2: usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd lsusb rqt 128 rq 6 len 2 > ret -71 > usb 3-2: usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd lsusb rqt 128 rq 6 len 9 > ret -71 > usb 3-2: usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd lsusb rqt 128 rq 6 len 9 > ret -71 > usb 3-2: usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd lsusb rqt 128 rq 6 len 9 > ret -71 > usb 3-2: usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd lsusb rqt 128 rq 6 len 9 > ret -71 > usb 3-2: usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd lsusb rqt 128 rq 6 len 9 > ret -71 > usb 3-2: usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd lsusb rqt 128 rq 6 len 9 > ret -71 > usb 3-2: usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd lsusb rqt 128 rq 6 len 4 > ret -71" This indicates two things. First, the usbfs_snoop facility wasn't working when you ran lsusb. Maybe because you didn't turn it on, maybe for some other reason. Second, the camera itself wasn't working, because those error messages indicate it did not respond to the messages sent by lsusb. One thing I can suggest: Try installing the 2.6.13 kernel. You never know, it might help. Alan Stern ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tame your development challenges with Apache's Geronimo App Server.
