Hi,

I have HP/COMPAQ Presario 2500 series Laptop with 3 USB ports. The OS is Ubuntu
Breezy 5.10.

I have internal CD-R and I am trying to hook up Toshiba Samsung CD-RW Model
TS-H292 through USB 2.0 IDE Adapter which has Genesys Logic chipset.

I am getting various errors as follows:

If I use lspci the device is listed for a few seconds before it gets
disconnected. Here is the output:

can't get device qualifier: Operation not permitted
can't get debug descriptor: Operation not permitt

The problem is the device gets disconnected.

I would like to know if it is OK to use Genesys Logic USB 2.0 IDE Adapter and
should I try another make of CD-RW?
