Thanks! That fixes it (and the mega hack is activated).
Now minicom passes the "Initializing modem" phase, but it
doesn't respond to anything I type (no echo) and I can't
see any activity on the leds when I send AT commands.
Maybe it's the voltage problem...

Is there a simpler way to send data to the serial and
test for echo?
