Wow.  I've never quite seen a descriptor dump like that.

As the maintainer of the USB Mass Storage driver, I think you should
probably take choice (a) -- return it, it will most likely never work.

If Lexar could be convinced to give up specs, there is a possibility that
a driver could be written.  But that descriptor dump looks so radically
different from any other storage device I've ever worked with that I think
it's unlikely to happen.

If you're looking for a CF reader, I can suggest the SanDisk Imagemate --
the unit that looks like a little igloo with an eject button on the front.
Be careful not to confuse this with the almost identical-looking unit that
does not have the eject button on the front.  Only the unit with the eject
button works for now.
