There definitely should be some support for hotplugging and some more
than the current infrastructure for busses. However, this is a very hot
ground to play on and there were many flamewars in the past about how to
do it. Slowly, solutions emerge. I hope it'll all work out sooner or
later and we will have something which will work for all kinds of
busses, will allow autoloading of modules based on device IDs et cetera.
