Well firstly thanx to all with your comments on a suitable modem, and I am
now trialing out a Dynalink V1456VQE (external) to see if I like it.
So far I haven't been having too much luck!. To start with nothing seamed to
be able to auto detect my modem, so using kppp I set up what I think to be
the correct settings and then queried the modem, all worked fine. but now
when I try to connect it gets as far as saying "initializing modem" but
never seams to get any further.
some of the LED's on my modem flash on and off while it try's to connect but
it still doesn't get passed "initializing modem".
has anyone got any ideas as to how to fix this?
