Hi,
I recently purchased a 3Com 3c905cx-tx-m (writings on card) PCI NIC. My
machine currently has a 3c905B-TX NIC in it. So naturally I assumed (big
mistake) that the new card would work as well as the old one.

I installed RH7.3 on it via NFS using the old card. Now when I boot the
machine I get the message about being able to configure my card, and it
appears to be set up for a local boot. (PXE??)

The configuration message dissappears and I get a new message,
"...press N to boot from network..."
so I dont press anything, then I get
"...GRUB..."
then nothing, no grub picture nothing, any suggestions. The card does not
have a jumper for disabling the management features. The 3Com online
documentation lists the card as beig Linux compatible.

Any good suggestions?

<unbiased rant>
To make matters worse the switch on the 3rd Floor of the civil mech building
went down at about 4pm yesterday afternoon and I can not get access to the
internet from my office. Ximian exolution does some really funky stuff when
the network goes down!!
</rant>

Thanks,

Mark Carey
