Newbie question

Greetings.     I recently bought from DSE their 3 CD set of Mandrake 8.1. These disks installed without any snags, but I found KMail a bit clumsy after being accustomed to Outlook Express.     So I imported an upgrade CD for KDE 3.0 and then my troubles began. Installation of the upgrade was not as smooth as I had hoped. When I had installed as much as my system would allow, I found that I could no longer login at user level.     After some anxious experimentation, I managed to re-boot, but the problem was still there. Eventually I had to re-instal the original CDs.     I understand that there is now an 8.2 version available. Can someone advise me where this version may be obtained? ................................................................ Fred.
