Ahh, I Love a good pissing contest.. :-). The best one I've currently got is the firewall at work, although I'm not reading this list at work currently (unjoined my work email) so I can't copy'n'paste..
It's been up just over a year (370 days from memory) and it passes an avg. of just under 8Gb of data a day through four NIC's, handling our DMZ, two Router connections and the LAN traffic to three Libraries / Service centres and the Darfield office. (not to mention webcam traffic! :-). ) Load average during the day is around 1.9-2.5 for eight hours most week days. One word... Solid. In 'appliance' situations like this, it's hard to beat a well configured Linux box. On the down side, I'm having some re-wiring of the mains in the computer room done in a weeks time, and I'm going to have to shut the box down. There goes my uptime, sob. Cheers, Chris. ----- Original Message ----- From: "C Falconer" > lemonsqueeze up 423+16:48, 0 users, load 1.00, 1.00, 1.00 > Its a cable firewall, doing NAT, portforwarding, and running dnetc.
