No splitter involved, access over cable is independent of any phone services. Data packages for Paradise vary depending on speed. 512k/128k has 1GB international, 256k/128k has 5GB int, 128k/128k 10GB int. National is metered at 1/10th of international, and certain stuff (eg, debian.paradise.net.nz, where Paradise's local debian mirror is) are free. Have had cable for a couple of years in welly, it's pretty good. The great thing is no stupid PPPoE hackery needed, the cable network acts more like a big ethernet bridge. However, I gather in other parts of the country they are using different methods (moving away from the Com21 proprietry stuff in welly), so check with someone down your way about how it runs. :) (ObDisc: Don't work for them, don't have a stake in them.) - -- "I know of no technological device at this time that would [prevent priracy] and if it did exist, it would only be a matter of days before the [..] manufacturers would have an override piece of equipment on their machine and you would start from ground zero again." -- Jack Valenti, President of the MPAA (1982) -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.75-6 iD8DBQE9WtKzT21+qRy4P+QRApcGAJ9x4/fDUlJiFo1A7ZF03+z9wxzOJACgkVli Qn4Zom134nfIW7gLDmFo2d4= =cpXj -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
