Okay, well I didn't want to say this, *ducks from flames*, but everytime
that it has hung (it doesn't always)... it has been trying to read a
Joilet disk... never had it hang with Rock Ridge,... since I write
backups in Rock Ridge I can read them back... but its 4 speed burner...
and it only writes at 2 speed or 1 speed... (despite xcdroast reporting
it as 4 speed) and when it reads (if it doesn't hang the computer) it
never spins up to anything like its 24 speed max read... it just chuggs 
away at 1 or 2 speed.

But now i refuse to use it, so i use the laptop drive across the network
