Hi Ben, Should we do a survey on the list about opinions whether your mother should allow you to go to this important extra-curricular educational event? Maybe she would be impressed if we sent the result to her :-) Re the Toshiba: Once upon a time, in the last decade of the last century, I installed a Xircom 56k modem / 100BaseT Ethernet card in a Toshiba Satellite (220CS ???, not sure). I had to fiddle and file a bit on the configuration, and IIRC I never managed to use the modem and the Ethernet simultaneously, but that was not required. It was not my machine, but if no one else knows how to do it I could at least search and look if I can find the old config files. They will possibly not work with your hardware, but maybe I could remember how to do it. I think there was some config advice in the Suse support DB. Must have been a Suse 6.4.
