There's one in the works. But I reckon the install guide is great...if you know how to compile your kernel and partition your hard disk, the rest is plain sailing.
The approach I took when I first tried it, was I'll give it a go, nothing to lose. If it doesn't work out I can quickly put Mandrake or Slackware back on. My first time was when gentoo was quite young and I couldn't get it to work. But the latest versions are great. Also the support forums (forums.gentoo.org) are really helpful. Read them before installing. If you want a bit of an adventure, try it, but if you haven't got the time to be fiddling around stick with RedHat or whatever.
